Mining Project Controls Centre of Excellence
During a collaborative turnkey asset management contract, we first act as project management consultants, offering advice and technical assistance to the owner and collaborating with the owner's team to create a design that aligns with the owner’s budget and schedule. Projects are executed as follows:
01
Asset performance and asset integrity management form the basis of a comprehensive asset management strategy plan. Enquiry documentation to OEM's with delivery/execution dates that align with the asset management plan. Following adjudication and selection of the suppliers, we assist in the drafting of collaborative commercial agreements between all parties involved.
02
In collaboration with OEM's we execute the project under the commercial agreement and asset management plan. We upgrade, refurbish or replace mobile assets, commission equipment and train operators. Replacing/refurbishing of equipment is scaled in overtime to cause the least disruption to operations.
03
As part of mine operations and maintenance, we implement control engineering and real-time management where applicable and act as legal collaborative contractors, assuming the risk of mobile asset management according to strategic mine engineering principles, the owners budget and production schedule.

Since the early 2000's Tacminmadini International was assigned by major listed mining organisations at group level to assist with owner-operator versus contractor trade-off studies, capital recommendations, OEM tender enquiries and procurement of selected mining equipment. We have a recordable track record relating to the drafting of commercial agreements for several OEM contract types, including but not limited to collaborative contract (openbook cost, etc) agreements for several major mining companies.
Our expertise have generated over 1200 mining cost benchmark models for blue chip mining companies with project values fetching up to US$ 5 billion, of which the annual ROM production on some exceeded 60 mtpa. During this time, we developed and applied resource data basis with complete Life-cycle costing of more than 300 different equipment models and sizes, with hauling equipment that ranges from 25 to 380 payload tons and matching shovels of up to 45 m3 bucket capacity.
